Under § 54.1-3303, a prescriber may establish a bona fide practitioner-patient relationship via synchronous audio-video without a prior in-person visit when a history is reviewed, a diagnosis is made, and the standard of care does not require an in-person exam; audio-only, email, fax, or a questionnaire alone do not qualify.

Compounding

The Board of Pharmacy adopts USP-NF standards (795 non-sterile, 797 sterile) and enforces them at inspection per § 54.1-3410.2 and guidance doc 110-36; the statute also prohibits regularly compounding copies of commercially available products and restricts permissible bulk drug substances.
